How to start 3D equipment training with one machine

Get started.

Starting with the Upskill Energy Training Academy is three steps: a live demonstration of about 30 minutes, one machine built from your own documents to a fixed scope and price, then training your people and trainers and handing over the explorer with its workbook, assessment and job aid.

Start with one machine in three steps

01

See it

A live demonstration of the explorer, about 30 minutes, with your questions answered.

02

Pick one machine

The one your new starters struggle with most. We build it from your manuals, drawings, equipment register and procedures, to a fixed scope agreed before we start.

03

Train and hand over

We train your people and your trainers, then hand over the explorer with its workbook, assessment and job aid. It runs offline, on your own systems.

Book a demonstration.

Tell us the machine you have in mind. We will show you the explorer working and talk through what building yours would take.

Questions we are asked.

If yours is not here, ask us, or see all the questions answered.

What happens in the demonstration?

The demonstration is a live session of about 30 minutes in which we run the Upskill Energy Equipment Explorer for you and answer your questions. Tell us beforehand which machine you have in mind, and we will talk through what building yours would take and what we would need from you.

Which machines can you build?

We build the machines your people work on: turbines, engines, pumps, generators, switchgear and packaged equipment. We suggest starting with one, usually the machine your new starters struggle with most, so the first build answers a real training need and the result shows quickly.

What do you need from us?

For one machine we need its manuals and drawings, an extract of the equipment register, the operating and isolation procedures that apply, and an engineer who can answer our questions. We build the model, the tags, the isolations, the alarms and the course from those documents, so the training matches your plant.

How long does the first machine take?

It depends on the machine and on how complete its documents are, so we do not quote a standard time. After seeing the documents we agree a fixed scope, a fixed price and a delivery date for the first machine before any work starts, and we measure your baseline first so the result can be judged.

How is it priced?

The first machine is built for a fixed price, agreed before we start, against a scope written down in advance, so the cost is known and there is no long programme to sign up to first. Ask us for a quote for your machine: we need to see its documents to price it properly.

Who trains our people?

We train your people and your trainers on the finished build, then hand over the explorer with its workbook, assessment and job aid, so your own trainers can run the course from then on. Your assessors use the built-in assessment alongside your own competence process, and they sign competence, not us.

How do we know it worked?

Before we start we measure your baseline: how long it takes today to get someone ready on the machine, and how your people score on the assessment the explorer will use. We agree the measures with you, such as time to competence and assessment results, and your own people judge the result.

Can we try it before we talk to you?

Yes. The Upskill Energy Equipment Explorer runs live on the Try it live page of this site: cut a gas turbine open, find a tag, work out an isolation, answer an alarm or trace a fault. It works best on a laptop or desktop in Chrome or Edge, and there is nothing to install.
